Nicaragua

It has taken me a few days to process the time I spent in Nicaragua. It was truly incredible. St Augustine said, "The world is a book. He who does not travel reads only a single page." The truth of this cannot be overstated, by traveling outside our homes and comfort zones we are able to see more of the story and understand life outside ourselves. Building relationship with the people of Iglario Reyes has given me new perspectives. New perspectives on material possessions, family, friendships, the Lord, and this crazy thing we call life. The world is just so much bigger to me now, and even though I have traveled many times before (Canada, London, Spain, and all over the US) this trip was different.

Although it was difficult to see the plight of the villagers, there was something so beautiful there too. My time in Nicaragua was definitely eye opening, and I am challenged to reorder my priorities as I fall back into the swing of normalcy again.

^^the fĂștbols we brought sure went to good use^^

^^after the well dedication the villagers served us a wonderful meal; their love and gratitude was unending^^

Nicaragua you have my heart.
